Christina Gavalas of Franklin Square Recognized for Academic Achievement at University of Scranton Commencement

Christina M. Gavalas of Franklin Square was among the graduate students recognized for academic achievement at The University of Scranton's post-baccalaureate degree commencement, which was held on May 27 in the Byron Recreational Complex.

At the ceremony, the University conferred master's degrees in several disciplines, Doctor of Physical Therapy degrees and its first Doctor of Nursing Practice degrees.

Graduates represented 34 states, Washington, D.C., and several foreign countries, including Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Louisiana, North Carolina, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and Washington, among others. The programs with the most graduates at Scranton were the master of business administration, occupational therapy, educational administration, curriculum and instruction and human resources.

In addition, graduate students were honored for achievement in their academic area. Gavalas received the University's Outstanding Academic Award for Occupational Therapy.
