Joshua Ray Jimenez of Apalachin Among Students Honored at The University of Scranton

Joshua Ray N. Jimenez of Apalachin was among the 59 members of The University of Scranton's undergraduate class of 2015 honored for academic excellence, service or both at Class Night on May 29. Also recognized were the University's two Fulbright scholarship recipients for the 2015-2016 academic year.

Jimenez received both the Kathryn and Bernard Hyland Memorial Award for Excellence in Biology and the Excellence in Biomathematics Award. A member of the Honors Program, Jimenez graduated summa cum laude with a double major in biology and biomathematics and a minor in Spanish. Jimenez was a member of Alpha Mu Gamma, the national honor society of foreign languages; Pi Mu Epsilon, the national honor society of mathematics; Beta Beta Beta, the national honor society of biology; and HPO, the Health Professions Organization. Next fall, he will attend the State University of New York Upstate Medical University in Syracuse. Jimenez is a graduate of Seton Catholic Central High School in Binghamton, New York.
