Local Residents Among Students Honored at The University of Scranton

Dylan H. Lang of West Orange and Paris N. Metzger of Nutley were among the 59 members of The University of Scranton's undergraduate class of 2015 honored for academic excellence, service or both at Class Night on May 29. Also recognized were the University's two Fulbright scholarship recipients for the 2015-2016 academic year.

Lang was the recipient of the Counseling and Human Services Award. He graduated magna cum laude with a major in counseling and human services, a minor in criminology, and a concentration in human development. Lang was the President of Tau Upsilon Alpha, the national honor society of counseling and human services. He was a member of Alpha Lambda Delta, the national honor society of freshmen; and Pi Gamma Mu, the international honor society in social science. He plans to obtain a master's degree in social work and a Juris Doctorate. Lang graduated from Union County Magnet High School in Scotch Plains, New Jersey.

Metzger received the Excellence in Business Administration Award. A member of the Business Leadership Honors Program, she graduated summa cum laude with a business administration major and a marketing minor. Metzger was a member of Alpha Lambda Delta, the national honor society of freshmen; and Beta Gamma Sigma, the international honor society of business. She was the Vice President of Omega Beta Sigma, the women's business honor society. Metzger is the Kania School of Management Ambassador to the Dean. She participated in the Business Club, the Scranton Lady Entrepreneurs, and The University of Scranton Choir. She currently works as the Brand Coordinator for the NOTE Fragrances, and she plans to pursue a master's degree in marketing and brand management. Metzger was a graduate of Nutley High School.
