Men's Soccer's Matthew Busch Nabs CoSIDA Academic All-District Honors for Third Straight Season

2016 Oct 31

For the third consecutive season, senior Matthew Busch (Mahwah/Mahwah) of the University of Scranton men's soccer team has been named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District Team, the organization announced on Thursday.

Busch made the Academic All-Distrct Team for the third straight year for Division III, District Four, a district comprised of Division III institutions throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

This season, Busch has once again helped the Scranton defense become one of the best units in all of the Landmark Conference, as the Royals enter the final week of the regular season boasting an 11-3-1 record overall and a 4-2 mark in the Landmark.

In all, Busch and the Royals defense has recorded seven shutout victories on the year, including a four and a half match string to start the season in which they did not allow a score.

The opposition has scored just 12 goals on the Royals for the year, as Scranton has allowed opponents to take just 8.6 shots from the field per match.

Busch has also chipped in on offense, recording three assists on the year, as well.
