Sixty-three University of Scranton student-athletes named to the Landmark Conference Fall Academic Honor Roll. The Academic Honor Roll recognizes student-athletes who have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.2 or higher and are at least at a sophomore level academically. The conference honored 365 student-athletes on the Academic Honor Roll.

Sophomore guard Bridgette Mann (Canadensis, Pa./Wallenpaupack) took the game over late on Saturday at Rochester, as the guard lifted the fifth-ranked University of Scranton women's basketball team to the 2016 Chuck Resler Invitational Championship in a four-point victory. For her efforts over the weekend in a pair of victories for the Lady Royals, Mann has been named the University of Scranton Athlete of the Week for the period ending Nov. 20, 2016.

Senior Matthew Busch (Mahwah, N.J./Mahwah) of the University of Scranton men's soccer team can add one more award to his list of postseason accolades, as the defender was named to the 2016 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-America Division III Men's Soccer Team on Friday, nabbing a spot on the Second Team.

For senior defender Erin Casey (Hatfield, Pa./Gwynedd Mercy Academy), success on the field and in the classroom has been a constant during her time on The University of Scranton women's soccer team. Now, she has been named one of the top student-athletes in her sport. Casey has been named second-team Academic All-American by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), the highest honor recognizing student-athletes for their athletic and academic accomplishments.

Senior Jimmy Buckley (Belle Harbor, N.Y./Xavier) had a standout season for The University of Scranton men's cross country team. As it turns out, he's no slouch in the classroom, either. On Tuesday, Buckley was named the Landmark Conference Senior Scholar Athlete for men's cross country, an honor that recognizes a senior in each sport who has excelled both athletically and academically.

Senior Ian Evans (Laurys Station, Pa./Parkland) became the second wrestler in University of Scranton history to reach 100 career wins when he went 4-0 at the Electric City Duals on Saturday in the Long Center. As a result of his historic achievement, Evans has been named the University's Athlete of the Week.

Junior Connor Casey (Hatfield, Pa./LaSalle College H.S.) of The University of Scranton men's soccer team had a huge week for the Royals, as Scranton captured their second straight Landmark Conference Championship with a pair of wins over Drew and Elizabethtown in tournament play. With two goals in two matches, Casey has been named the University of Scranton Athlete of the Week.

Sophomore Susan Neggia (Fair Lawn, N.J./Immaculate Heart Academy) of the University of Scranton women's swimming & diving team had a big night in Scranton's dual meet win over Catholic on Friday night, as the Royals captured their 2016-17 home opener by a score of 153-109. Sophomore Kristin Kirwan (Park Ridge, N.J./Immaculate Heart Academy) finished off an historic 2016 regular season this past week, leading a Scranton attack that went 4-0 on the week. For her efforts, Kirwan was named the Landmark Conference's Volleyball Athlete of the Week on Monday, the conference office announced. For Kirwan, this marks the third time on her career that she has won the award, and the first time she has won the award during the 2016 season.

For the third consecutive season, senior Matthew Busch (Mahwah, N.J./Mahwah) of the University of Scranton men's soccer team has been named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District Team, the organization announced on Thursday. Busch made the Academic All-Distrct Team for the third straight year for Division III, District Four, a district comprised of Division III institutions throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Senior James Caulfield (Pennington, N.J./Hopewell Valley) made sure The University of Scranton men's soccer team would begin defense of the Landmark Conference championship at home when he scored to give the Royals a 1-0 victory at Catholic on Saturday. The win secured the second seed in this week's Landmark Conference playoffs and meant Scranton will host a semifinal on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Fitzpatrick Field. Senior Pat Codispoti (Rockville Centre, N.Y./Chaminade) had a big week for the University of Scranton men's soccer team, scoring twice as the Royals went 1-0-1 in a pair of matches, while leading a Royals defense that allowed just two goals on the week. For his efforts, Codispoti was named the Landmark Conference's Men's Soccer Defensive Athlete of the Week for the period ending October 23, the conference office announced on Monday afternoon.

Sophomore Christopher Whalen (West Islip, N.Y./West Islip) of the University of Scranton men's swimming & diving team opened his career as a Royal in a big way on Saturday in a dual meet against Cabrini and FDU-Florham, leading Scranton to two victories in their 2016-17 season opener. For his performance in the meet, Whalen has been named the Landmark Conference's men's swimming Athlete of the Week for the period ending Oct. 16, the conference office announced on Monday.

Senior Emma Sommers (Bridgewater, N.J./Bridgewater-Raritan) had a big day in Scranton's 2016-17 season opening victories at Cabrini on Saturday, pacing the team to victories over the host Cavaliers and FDU-Florham. For her efforts in the meet, Sommers has been named the Landmark Conference's Women's Swimming Athlete of the Week, the conference office announced this afternoon. For Sommers, this marks the first time in her career at Scranton that she has earned the award from the Landmark.

Senior Brittany Cafiero (Merrick, N.Y./Kellenberg Memorial) lent more than a helping hand as The University of Scranton women's volleyball team clinched a playoff berth with a pair of victories on Friday. Cafiero totaled 57 assists and 17 digs as the Royals secured their spot in the Landmark Conference postseason with wins over Elizabethtown and Moravian. For her efforts, Cafiero has been named The University of Scranton Athlete of the Week.

Sophomore Brittany Uricchio (Glastonbury, Conn./Glastonbury) was in the mood to lend a helping hand last week. The midfielder assisted on three of the Royals' goals and added one herself while helping the team win twice to extend its winning streak to six. As a result of her big week, Uricchio has been named The University of Scranton Athlete of the Week.
